It was without a doubt that Christmas was on the horizon as the crowded streets of Byres road was filled with shoppers and some of the city’s most charming citizens. On Friday November 17th, a quiet afternoon in the West End of Glasgow. The busy streets of Byres Road were awfully silent, the city appeared to be hibernation.Despite the piercing cold and rain, we encountered brave souls in our journey along Byres Road, Great Western Road and the Hillhead area. These individuals were clearly advocates of style over colourless layers, timeless fashion over trends or fads. Enjoy, share and hopefully be inspired.
On a chilly November afternoon, Oeuvre our street fashion initiative made its debut in Glasgow’s Centre area. We were astonished by the fashionistas we encountered in our promenade along St Enoch, Argyle street and Buchanan street. Without fail, these individuals demonstrated an unequivocally level of taste and uniqueness in their respective fashion choices. Enjoy, share and be inspired.
Autumn is the season where those sun kissed tans of summer are long gone and winter’s chill is on the horizon, however that never deters any fashionista from adapting and procuring autumn-ready layers that express an elegant and refreshing taste in style. In our travels around the Glasgow University campus, we encountered such individuals that demonstrated in the midst of this wet, melancholic and windy season their taste in style and couture would not be compromised. Arguably, for many individuals fashion accessories – bags, jewelry, belts e.t.c are often an afterthought. However, the citizens in the Greater Glasgow Area that we came across in our travels make a strong case for accessories being the ultimate fashion statement. On Wednesday the 13th of September 2012 ,’Oeuvre’ – the guerrilla style street fashion initiative of Mimosa was born. The muses of this project were university students from the Greater Glasgow Area, they proved that style and chic are one of the ultimate forms of expression.
