Chomicz Fashion is the stellar creative outlet of Joanna Chomicz, a Polish born, now Glasgow based designer.  We were first introduced to Joanna’s female driven eccentric, bold and unconventional collection  that was modeled at the 2013 International Student Fashion Show hosted by Jake Mood.  Her collection reflected the work of a designer that was willing to make brave artistic statements, an element of playfulness in fashion and importantly experience. Joanna’s well fitted clothing and sewed couture are a reflection of her dedication to her art- spanning 15 years of fashion designing.

Chomicz Fashion,

Chomicz Fashion,

Notably, her inspiration for her individual pieces have come from historical clothing particularly 18th century and musical instruments. One of her pieces was inspired by the shape of a cello which was adapted to the human body. In effect, we believe that her designs are suited for both the runway and individuals who are willing to make bold and extraordinary fashion statements. Enjoy, Share and Be Inspired.

On March 13th 2013, Representatives of the Glasgow University Society and Mimosa Life attended the International Students Fashion Show hosted by Jake Mood at Sugar Cube Glasgow. The Merchant city based nightclub was given a contemporary makeover that exuded ambiance, atmosphere and attitude. The ISFS kicked off  in high spirits and was complemented with the glow of stage lights, red carpet runway and a turntablist/ percussionist who played the bongos between intervals . The atmosphere was electric and amused the anticipating audience at large. The bold, innovative and  quirky fashion designs that were on display on that evening included  collections from – M.A.D. Importantly, each individual collection were worn to their full potential by all of the models, each of which had their own style of working the catwalk. The event was indeed a fantastic celebration of innovative and bold fashion and  was a great opportunity to meet influential members of Glasgow’s thriving fashion scene.

Favourite pieces from the collections included – the quirky, oversized bow ties of The Roosevelt Hundred Bow Ties, Joanna Chomicz’s bold yet elegant pieces, Animinimal’s summer ready screen printed T-shirt apparel and Rebecca Riddick’s beautiful couture pieces.
